The Chamber was founded in 1993 as the CBA or Columbia Businessman's Association. The CBA found that by becoming a Chamber of Commerce, they could offer more services to the community and it's businesses.
In 1996 the CBA or Columbia Businessman's Association became the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. The goals then were similar to the goals today, to promote the industrial, commercial, professional, civic, and general interests of the community. Since 1996, this organization has been serving the Columbia Station Area as a most effective community development organization. The Chamber is made up of people just like you who realize that through Chamber membership, they can accomplish together what no one person or business can do alone. The Chamber is a membership funded organization and is independent of all other organizations and groups. The Chamber is effective because motivated and dedicated volunteers work for the mutual benefit of the total community. The Columbia Chamber of Commerce touches virtually every aspect of community life and provides assistance through data research, organization, administration and leadership. The Chamber program of work involves economic development, small business assistance, legislative affairs, tourism, long range planning, industrial safety awareness, beautification, business alert, community image, and much more. The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is a resource center providing complete information for visitors, newcomers, business prospects and clients, and provides current demographic information about the area, its assets and benefits. The Chamber developed and distributes the Columbia Station Community Guide, now in it's 3rd year of existence. It also is host to the community website "www.columbiastation.com". We invite you to join over 90 members who invest their time and talents in the work of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Columbia Chamber of Commerce
